Q: What is the difference between nincs, nincsenek, sincs, sincsenek?

A: you can think of these words like fusing some other words together

instead of "nem van" write "nincs". So nem+van = nincs

is + nem =sem

and one more level, is + nem + van = is + nincs = sincs

nincsenek is the plural version of nincs

sincsenek is the plural version of sincs

Some examples.

Az autó itt van. The car is here.

Az autó is itt van. The car is also here. (something else is here + the car too)

Az autó nincs itt. The car is not here.

Az autó sincs itt. The car is not here either. (something else is not here + the car also not)

Az autók nincsenek itt. The cars are not here.

Az autók sincsenek itt. The cars are not here either.

Q: What is the difference between sem and sincs?

A: Let's start with some examples:

Péter magas. Péter is tall.

Péter is magas. Péter is also tall.

Péter sem magas. Péter is also not tall. / Péter is not tall, either.

Gábor rosszul van. Gábor is sick. / feeling badly.

Gábor is rosszul van. Gábor is also sick.

Gábor sincs rosszul. Gábor is also not sick.

So, the first question is: "van" included or "van" dropped? (see this  post: https://magyarbagoly.blogspot.com/2022/01/when-to-use-vanvannak.html )

No "van" appears in
 Péter magas. Péter alacsony. Kati tanár. Ő fáradt. → sem will be enough

Péter sem magas. Péter sem alacsony. Kati sem tanár. Ő sem fáradt.

but "van" appears with adverbs or places.
Gábor rosszul van. Gábor jól van. Egyedül van. Az autó ott van. A könyv itt van.  → sincs is the way to go

Gábor sincs rosszul. Gábor sincs jól. Ő sincs egyedül. Az autó sincs ott. A könyv sincs itt.
